About us

The mission of the International Cooperation and Projects Department is to raise external funds for educational activities and research of University of Social Sciences, as well as the stimulation of academic staff for the scientific research development that can be financed by the European Union funds.

The SAN's teaching staff uses the opportunities offered by EU programs such as Erasmus + (formerly Lifelong Learning Programme) and Creative Europe (former Culture) etc., actively participates and supports with its substantive knowledge the implementation and dissemination of projects. Involvement in international projects is an opportunity to work in an international environment, and create new products and materials. It should also be mentioned, that the teaching staff can submit their ideas for projects, and study trips to institutions and universities co-operating in the project are an opportunity not only to share their knowledge and experience, but also learn about the solutions used in other countries.

The topics vary as the target groups aimed by the project activities. Over the last few years, the University of Social Sciences, has been a partner and coordinator of many projects aimed at specific professional groups, including teachers, guidance counselors, coaches or managers. There are also projects improving the skills of non-professional adults, eg. providing support for multilingual families, parents, seniors or people from disadvantaged groups.

International Cooperation and Projects Department is responsible for:

  • Raising international external funds for products of the University of Social Sciences (educational offer and research).
  • Creating new projects.
  • Cooperation with other institutions in projects' submission.
  • Raising awareness about the possibilities of EU funds among the teaching staff of the University of Social Sciences and promoting the involvement of the staff in the projects.
  • Administrative and financial management of the projects.
  • Projects' supervision.
  • International promotion of the University.

Awards:

Thanks to cooperation with experienced foreign partners, development of high-quality project implementation standards and the involvement of the teaching staff of University of Social Sciences, projects implemented by the International Cooperation and Projects Department can boast of many awards, such as:

  • Award for the ADVANCE project - the award is part of "Genderequality in IT" and is awarded by the Austrian Minister for Women's Affairs, Media and Regional Policy and the editors of several magazines. Details on www.report.at/award
  • Project S2CPT - From school to career: student-oriented career counseling methodology using the Career Path Test tool, coordinated by Univesity of Social Sciences, was awarded in a competition organized by ESSE Online Observatory, where the best examples of educational practice in limiting the phenomenon were collected early school leaving and second chance education.
  • Distinction for the DISCRIMINATION AT WORK project - Discrimination in the workplace project - a compendium of knowledge for vocational counselors, was awarded in the EST database http://llp.est.org.pl/search.php as a good practice and received the title of Star project (symbolic asterisk next to the project description in the EST database).
  • Awards for Polish films made as part of the EUFORIA project - films made by students participating in the EUFORIA project were noticed during the Docs for Kids Festival in Thessaloniki. Featured films are: Nowoczesna Łowiczanka was recognized by the jury as the best film representing Poland (National Winner). The film was made by students of the 1st High School from ul. Bonifraterska in Łowicz. Whereas the film entitled: Princess, shot by students of the 6th High School from ul. Podmiejska in Łódź, received a Special Recognition.
  • At the invitation of the European Commission, the project MULTILINGUAL FAMILIES (Supporting multilingual families - a linguistic treasure for Europe) was presented during the Educational Forum in Brussels in October 2013. The project was presented in the form of a workshop, aroused great interest. The participants, delighted with the very idea, emphasized its importance and, above all, the need to continue this type of activity, because the demand in an increasingly multicultural and multilingual Europe is enormous.
  • The CAREER PLAN 50+ project was awarded by the European Commission and presented as an example of good practice during "One Step Up in later life: learning for active aging and intergenerational solidarity" on November 19-21, 2012 in Brussels.

  • The FOOD-AWARE project was awarded the prestigious GOLD prize in the category "Cooperation with Business Entities and Organisations" in the Education Leaders Awards (a well-known private national competition in Greece), in which Douka School was the coordinator and the University of Social Sciences was the partner. https://www.educationleadersawards.gr/

  • The ProHear project, coordinated by the University of Social Sciences, was awarded the prestigious EDUinspirations 2021 award in the Social inclusion and diversity category. https://eduinspiracje.org.pl/

  • The ROBOTICS4DEAF project - Robotics through sing language: ensuring access and engagement of students with disabilities (deaf or with hearing impairment) to the digital world of coding and robotics, coordinated by the Social Academy of Sciences, was recognized by the Erasmus+ National Agency as an example of good practice and can serve as a source of inspiration for other institutions.
  • The ESTET project - Embedding Sustainability Skills in Tourism Education and Training, coordinated by the Social Academy of Sciences, was recognized by the Erasmus+ National Agency as an example of good practice and can serve as a source of inspiration for other institutions.
  • The Di2Learn project - Distance-digital teaching and learning in the post-covid-19 era, coordinated by the Social Academy of Sciences, was recognized by the Erasmus+ National Agency as an example of good practice and can serve as a source of inspiration for other institutions.

  • The Aware project - Increasing Anxiety awareness in higher education during (post) Covid-19 pandemic, coordinated by the Social Academy of Sciences, was recognized by the Erasmus+ National Agency as an example of good practice and can serve as a source of inspiration for other institutions.

  • The RBTSinMath project - Developing Mathematics Achievement through Using Robotics Applications in Flipped Learning, coordinated by the Social Academy of Sciences, was recognized by the Erasmus+ National Agency as an example of good practice and can serve as a source of inspiration for other institutions.
  • The PRO.D.I.G.Y project - Promoting Disability Inclusion in emergency response in the World of Work, coordinated by the Social Academy of Sciences, was recognized by the Erasmus+ National Agency as an example of good practice and can serve as a source of inspiration for other institutions.
  • Projekt LEXIS - Supporting english language teachers to upgrade teaching and learning of children with dyslexia through the integration of emerging technologies and the acqusition of digital skills, coordinated by the Social Academy of Sciences, was recognized by the Erasmus+ National Agency as an example of good practice and can serve as a source of inspiration for other institutions.

 

Zbigniew Pyszka - Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator

A graduate of English Philology at the University of Łódź. His professional career includes working for the Municipality of Łodź, where ha was in charge of cooperation with Łodź twin cities. Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator for the University of Social Sciences.

Anita Wojciechowska-Chrabąszcz - Outgoing Mobility Coordinator

A graduate of English Philology and Mass Communication at London Metropolitan University, which she completed with honours.
English language teacher, tutor and Erasmus Office employee. She is responsible for organising student and academic mobility within the Erasmus programme and expanding international contacts.

Paulina Kocot - International Project Specialist

A graduate of English Philology and American Studies. In the Department of International Cooperation and International Projects, she cooperates in the implementation of international projects.

Anna Samulczyk - Finance Specialist

Years of experience in accounting for projects financed from the European Union and other research grants.
