« wróć

Currently, over 34 million foreigners reside in the EU. The 2016 Action Plan showed the need for stronger measures to integrate and include migrant children and families, enabling them to contribute sustainably to the local community. Reports such as the Eurydice 2020 and OECD 2019 state a series of barriers faced by migrant children, their parents and educators including inadequate knowledge of local language, insufficient provision of social and emotional support, teachers are insufficiently trained for multicultural classrooms and with new innovative methodologies-resources, weak home-school cooperation and provision of limited funding for support.

Objectives:
  • Support young migrant children (aged 4-7) and their families in integrating into their new communities.
  • Address challenges such as language barriers, cultural differences, and limited support in schools.
  • Use schools as hubs for integration by fostering inclusive learning environments.
  • Improve language learning to enhance communication and academic success.
  • Develop social and emotional skills to support children's well-being and social inclusion.
  • Reduce early school leaving by providing targeted support and resources.
  • Empower migrant parents with language lessons and encourage their involvement in their children’s education and community life.
  • Equip teachers with innovative tools and methods, such as storytelling and mentoring, to teach effectively in multicultural classrooms.
