EmpowerHER: Ensuring digital innovation (gamification), quality and recognition in YW for better gender balance in entrepreneurship education

« wróć

For many years, one of the primary objectives of EU Member States has been the development and promotion of entrepreneurial education. In the current context of high youth unemployment, economic crises, and rapid changes in our complex knowledge-based economy and society, transversal skills such as entrepreneurship are critical not only for shaping young people's mindsets, but also for providing the skills, knowledge, and attitudes that are essential for developing an entrepreneurial culture in Europe.

Objectives:
  • Empower young female 16-21 yrs old with entrepreneurial and transversal skills thus promoting sense of initiative and active citizenship through the utilization of non-academic time (e.g. during the summer) with the provision of fun, innovative and immersive learning opportunities (SECTORAL PRIORITY)
  • Promote innovation of youth work through the development of new digital tools as well as the adoption of innovative methodologies such as role models, mentoring, story-telling etc. (DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION PRIORITY)
  • Support the professional development of youth workers and promote and upgrade their work related to entrepreneurship and provide them with tools and resources to effectively mentor young girls who aspire to become entrepreneurs
  • Connect YP with entrepreneurial spirit with mentors, investors, and potential collaborators who can support their entrepreneurial journey through various channels, pitching competitions, podcasts, story-telling etc.
  • Ensure access, inclusion and participation of marginalised groups of young girls in high quality entrepreneurial education and training, and assist them to develop the necessary skills and knowledge for starting and managing businesses. (INCLUSION PRIORITY)
  • Help youth develop entrepreneurial competences by introducing non-formal learning opportunities via extra-curricular activities, as outlined in the 2018 Digital Action Plan
  • EMPOWER, ENGAGE AND CONNECT young females, to become ACTORS OF SOCIAL CHANGE for the SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT of their communities
Target groups:
  • Young girls (16-21 years old) from vulnerable groups (e.g. living in rural areas, with migrant background, early school leavers, marginalized etc.) who will benefit from their participation in the EmpowerHER summer camp by acquiring entrepreneurial competences to pursue a career in this field or be inspired to develop their ideas into business plans
  • Youth workers, volunteers, trainers etc. who provide non-formal activities to YP especially girls who will strengthen their profiles with a validated capacity building training on micro-credentials to become entrepreneurial mentors and implement the activities of the project

Other TGs include:

  • Teachers, trainers, adult educators, NGOs, associations, schools etc. that can utilize the products to be developed for the promotion of entrepreneurial skills acquisition, as well as to participate in the synergies for the pitching competition.
  • Community in general: Labour market actors, social entrepreneurs, social enterprises, VET educators, career counsellors, parents, community, councils, etc., that will be invited to create synergies and partnerships with the Youth workers, VET school, teachers
